Step-by-Step Guide to Managing Your Drives Using the Sandisk Dashboard App

STEP 1

Download and install the Sandisk Dashboard app

Power up your computer and make sure your operating system is fully updated.
Visit the Sandisk Support website and download the Sandisk Dashboard app.
Install the software on your computer.

STEP 2

Connect the new SSD

If your drive is external, connect it to your computer using the appropriate cable (e.g., USB).

STEP 3

Launch the Sandisk Dashboard app

Open the Sandisk Dashboard app on your computer.
The app will automatically detect your connected drives.

STEP 4

Update firmware

Go to the “Firmware” tab to check for available firmware updates.
If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the latest firmware for your drive.

STEP 5

Monitor drive health

Navigate to the “Status” tab to view the health and status of your drive.
Check parameters such as temperature, available space, and drive health status.
Address any warnings or alerts promptly to maintain optimal drive performance.

STEP 6

Perform diagnostics

Navigate to the “Tools” tab to access diagnostic tools.
Run quick or extended diagnostic tests to identify and troubleshoot any issues with your drive.

STEP 7

Optimize drive performance

Scroll down on the “Tools” tab to the “Optimizations” section to customize your drive's performance.
Monitor drive performance metrics such as read/write speeds.

STEP 8

Customize settings

Go to the “Settings” tab to customize various app and drive settings.
Adjust settings such as notifications, power management, and language preferences to suit your needs.
If you have a WD_BLACK drive, your drive may come equipped with extras like RGB Lighting Controls and Heatsink monitoring. You’ll have the ability to adjust them here.
