STEP 1

Download and install Acronis True Image for Sandisk

  • Power up your computer and make sure your operating system is fully updated.
  • Visit the Sandisk Support website and download the Acronis True Image for Sandisk software.
  • Install the software on your computer.

STEP 2

Connect the new SSD

  • If you are cloning to an external drive, connect the new Sandisk SSD to your computer using a SATA to USB cable.
  • If you are cloning to an internal drive, install the new SSD inside your computer. Not sure how? Learn how to upgrade your system.

STEP 3

Launch Acronis True Image for Sandisk

  • Open the Acronis True Image for Sandisk software on your computer.

STEP 4

Start the cloning process and mode

  • Select the "Clone Disk" option from the main menu.
  • Choose the source disk (your current boot drive, Disk 1) and the destination disk (your new SSD, Disk 2).
  • Choose the "Automatic" cloning mode for a straightforward process.
  • Review the summary of the cloning operation.

STEP 5

Begin cloning

  • Click "Proceed" to start the cloning process.
  • Wait for the cloning process to complete. This may take some time depending on the size of the data being cloned (in under 5 minutes or up to 1 hour).

STEP 6

Complete the cloning process

  • Once the cloning process is complete, shut down your computer.
  • Ensure the new SSD is properly installed.

STEP 7

Boot from the new SSD

  • Power on your computer and enter the BIOS settings.
  • Change the boot order to prioritize the new SSD.
  • Save the changes and exit the BIOS settings.

STEP 8

Verify the cloning

  • Once your computer boots up, verify that the new Sandisk SSD is functioning correctly and that data has been successfully cloned.
