Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Ensure your Nintendo Switch is powered off before inserting or removing a microSD card. This prevents the risk of data loss or corruption.
  2. The microSD card slot is located underneath the Nintendo Switch’s kickstand, on the back of the device.
  3. Flip open the kickstand, and you’ll see a small slot labeled “microSD.” The diagram there also shows you the correct orientation for the microSD card.
  4. Insert the microSD card into the slot, gently pushing it in until you feel a click. The microSD card is spring-loaded, so it will stay securely in place once it’s inserted correctly.
  5. After the microSD card is inserted, you can turn on the Nintendo Switch. It will automatically recognize the microSD card, and it will use the card as the default location for downloads and data storage.
  6. Remember, always power off your device before inserting or removing a microSD card to avoid any risk of data loss or corruption. If your Switch is on when you insert the card, you may need to restart the console to recognize the new storage.
