Fueling the Future of Data
Storage with UltraQLC
Learn more about how SanDisk’s UltraQLC platform and SSDs are the perfect match for the surging scale and
performance requirements of modern AI data storage — from AI data lakes to edge computing.
Why Develop UltraQLC?
The demand for performance, capacity, and efficiency is surging across data centers, high-performance computing, and consumer storage.
UltraQLC leverages the latest advancements in NAND flash technology to push the limits of density and deliver unprecedented capacity across your systems with uncompromising performance.
What is QuadBoost?
QLC — or, quad-level cell — technology uses four flash memory cells per die to increase density and boost capacity without increasing physical dimensions.
SanDisk developed QuadBoost to optimize QLC SSDs and leverage leading NAND nodes and controllers, improving performance, power, reliability, and capacity simultaneously.
How Does QuadBoost Optimize QLC?
- Unique flash direct-write with 25% to 40% faster write capabilities
- Intelligent power management
- Advanced package density capabilities
- Charge-level sensing and advanced error correction algorithms
- Innovative page programming and readout mechanisms
What is QLC?
Memory cells form the building blocks of flash NAND storage. In their early history, memory cells stored a single bit — either 1 or 0. These were called Single Level Cells (SLC).
As flash storage became more sophisticated, Multi-Level Cells (MLC) could store two bits and Triple-Level Cells (TLC) could store three.
Quad-Level Cells, or QLC, can store four bits per memory cell. That’s 33% more than TLC.
